We have finally published our investigation on a serious issue which remains completely under-reported. Turkey is building settlements in the areas occupied by Ankara in Syria´s northeast. Their final aim is to foster a demographic change in areas mainly inhabited by Kurds and replace them with Arab families which include refugees from other parts of Syria as well as Islamist combatants and ex-combatants. To date, dozens of settlements have been built with the financial help of countries such as Kuwait or Qatar, or even with private donations from Palestinians channeled through Palestinian-Israeli NGOs.
